Raynaud's phenomenon
Question
Do individuals with CdLS respond differently to various temperatures?
Answer of our experts
Cornelia de Lange Syndrome is a complex syndrome affecting multiple aspects of the body. It does appear that there is a sensitivity to external temperature, at both extremes. At cold temperatures, many individuals appear to experience Raynaud's phenomenon, or severe pain in their fingers and toes with color changes. Hot temperatures appear to be poorly tolerated by many individuals who may become fatigued or listless. The causes of these phenomena are unknown. Exposure to extreme temperatures should be minimized
