Question
Our daughter is now four years old. Recently, she was diagnosed as having some narrowing of the aortic arch-variant of coarctation. Is this common with CdLS?
Answer of our experts
Coarctation of the aorta is not one of the most common congenital heart manifestations of CdLS, but we certainly have seen it. Fortunately, it should be easily manageable by surgery to replace or bypass the narrowing. Your daughter should have no more difficulty with this than any other child with a similar cardiovascular defect. LJ/ TK 7-13-10
